Betsson vs. Lotteritilsynet

This January, Betsson group including CasinoEuro and CherryCasino launched EuroLotto for many countries in Europe. And one of those countries was Norway that lately banned online gambling, bank transactions and local credit cards which generated new deposit methods like Speedcard and Ukash. This week a big stopping order came from the authorities of Norway (Lotteritilsynet)to one of the biggest Nordic betting company Cherryföretagen and if summarized they allready wanted Betsson AB to stop its services for Norwegian citizens.

Betsson has its whitelabels as EuroLotto.com, Bets10 and Victory247 and these European lottery portals and casino setups are all licensed in Malta by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA)

Betssons reply for the issue was given by the Cherry’s CEO Gunnar Lind: He said that it does not matter how big is Norway on economics and law, there is one truth that  EC (EEA) -legislation is superior than the Norwegian law and these companies are founded in Malta and sentenced to the European gambling legislations.
